After an age-long rule of the male stars in Bollywood, the current woman-centric scripts have paved a way to the actresses to play central characters in films. The current scenario is such that the actresses are at par with each other with the power of such challenging movies.

Vidya Balan's back to back success The Dirty Picture and Kahaani might face a threat from Kareena Kapoor's upcoming Heroine, since all these movies are based on female-centric themes. Vidya who was basking in The Dirty Picture's success, has yet again won herself acclodes for Kahaani, where she herself plays the hero of the movie.

But reports say that Bhandarkar's Heroine is one of the finest female centric scripts Bollywood has ever seen. In fact the filmmaker has even promised that the world will see Kareena as never before. While Vidya's performance is being talked about so much for Kahaani, Bebo's glamorous avatar is such that there would be fireworks all over again with Heroine.

Both the stories are based on different story lines, while a pregnant Vidya runs for her missing husband, Mahie Khanna (Kareena) in Heroine traces the meteoric rise and tragic downfall of the fictitious actress.

Model Poonam Pandey, who made it to the headlines several times for different reasons in 2011, is one of the 'Fastest Rising People' in India. According to Google's annual statics zeitgeist 2011, the Kingfisher Calendar girl has landed in the fourth spot in the top ten list of the 'Fastest Rising People' of the country.

Talking to an International daily, Poonam Pandey expressed her delightment over getting a spot in the top ten Indian celebrities list. Talking about the Google's Zeitgeist 2011, the model said, “I'm very happy.” She added, “It's an honor for me to be among the big Indian celebrities like Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan.”

However, actress Katrina Kaif has topped the list of 'Fastest Rising People' in India, while her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan landed in third position. Other Bollywood stars like Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have also managed to get a spot in the list. But unfortunately, Shahrukh Khan’s name is missing in the list.

Salman’s Bodyguard beats Ra.One in the most searched movie of 2011

Bollywood film Bodyguard has become the most searched movie of the year 2011. According to the Google annual statics Zeitgeist 2011, Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer romantic comedy film has beaten Shahrukh Khan starrer Ra.One, which has landed in the second spot in the top ten list of Google search.

Ra.One is a mega-budget movie, which is a record in the history of Indian Cinema. Shahrukh Khan had spent heavily on its extensive promotion, especially on the YouTube and Facebook campaigns. When compared to its budget and amount of promotion, Bodyguard is nowhere near to it. But Salman has huge fan following, which has made it to top of the list of most searched movies on Google in 2011.

However, Harry Potter, which are a popular movie series in India, has landed in third position. Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s Delhi Belly and Ajay Devgn’s Singham have graced fourth and fifth spots in the list respectively. Salman Khan’s another release Ready has occupied sixth place.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu team unveils new song 'Aunty Ji'

Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has taken it on itself to give the viewers a fun year end. Just a week after the release of the title track of the film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, the production house has released another song from the film. The new track 'Aunty Ji' has been released on Monday midnight exclusively for the fans on the Dharma's official YouTube Channel.

The song Aunty Ji, which is composed by Amit Trivedi, is a fun track and it has a very vibrant feel. It differs from the usual movie tracks and has taken a slightly retro party beat. The song has gone down really well with the audience. The response to the song on the Facebook official page has been outstanding.

Talking about the song, the production team gushes, “Aunty Ji is only an example of the kind of songs we can expect in the movie – peppy, fun and very youthful. We are eagerly waiting for the Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu official Music launch, to dance to the tunes and end this year in style.”

Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor to turn friends again?

Bollywood's one of the most talked about cat fights between Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor might see its end very soon. The eyewitnesses in an event were surprised to see the arch rivals hugging each other warmly that definitely leads to certain possibility of friendship between the duo.

During an Entertainment awards event in Andheri, Priyanka made the first shocking move to give Kareena a warm hug. The Kapoor girl taken unawares was forced to extend a warm hug too. Well, this was a publicity stunt or real reconciliation, is still a mystery to us.
