Poonam Pandey - one of the 'Fastest Rising People' in India

Model Poonam Pandey, who made it to the headlines several times for different reasons in 2011, is one of the 'Fastest Rising People' in India. According to Google's annual statics zeitgeist 2011, the Kingfisher Calendar girl has landed in the fourth spot in the top ten list of the 'Fastest Rising People' of the country.

Talking to an International daily, Poonam Pandey expressed her delightment over getting a spot in the top ten Indian celebrities list. Talking about the Google's Zeitgeist 2011, the model said, “I'm very happy.” She added, “It's an honor for me to be among the big Indian celebrities like Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan.”

However, actress Katrina Kaif has topped the list of 'Fastest Rising People' in India, while her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan landed in third position. Other Bollywood stars like Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have also managed to get a spot in the list. But unfortunately, Shahrukh Khan’s name is missing in the list.

'Chikni Chameli' was not my style: Katrina

Katrina Kaif is garnering a lot of praise for gyrating to item number Chikni Chameli in Karan Johar's forthcoming film Agneepath, but the actress says the 'lavni' style dancing was not a cakewalk for her.

'The response to Chikni Chameli has been fun so far. It was hard work. It was very fast and it was not a style I was used to, but I took it as a challenge...I think we all went for it as a team and did the best we could. I am happy people are liking it,' the 27-year-old actress said in Mumbai while launching a new range of Panasonic air conditioners.

Even actor Salman Khan is smitten by the song and Katrina is happy about this.

'He has not told that to me but I think that's a great thing. He has great taste in music and songs. So, if he likes it then it's great,' said Katrina who featured in two more item numbers in Tees Maar Khan and Bodyguard.

The new year is around the corner and Katrina is pleased with the way 2011 shaped up for her.

'2011 has been a really great year for me. All the goals I had in hand, I think everything turned out really well. I am very grateful for that...The best I could have wanted to come out of every project has come true this year,' said Katrina who had two releases this year - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

Katrina has some plum projects in her kitty -- she is working on Ek Tha Tiger with Salman, Dhoom 3 and Yash Chopra's untitled new venture, which is expected to feature Shah Rukh Khan.

Agneepath team running 'Chikni Chameli’ contes

Katrina Kaif has apparently been offered a whooping Rs 2 crore to entertain the guests of a five star hotel in Mumbai on 2011 New Year's Eve. If sources are to be believed, Katrina Kaif has been offered Rs 2 crore to perform live before the guests of a five star hotel on New Year's Eve. The actress is expected to perform for a mere 1,080 seconds. Phew! However, Katrina Kaif has still not confirmed her presence at the event. Apart from 'Sheila Ki Jawani', Katrina Kaif's 'Chikni Chameli' avatar in Agneepath is also expected to rock the stage. It is being reported that if Katrina Kaif refuses to take up the offer, the event organisers might approach Mallika Sherawat and she might turn out to be the highest paid actress on New Year's Eve.
