New Delhi: The huge promotional drive seems to have worked in favour of 'The Dirty Picture'. The film has shown a great promise at the box office. So far, the film has fetched more than Rs 50 crore, a difficult feat to achieve by any standard.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted about the collections at the end of week one. He tweets,"#TheDirtyPicture collects 52.5 cr nett in Wk 1. Fri 9.54 cr, Sat 10.78 cr, Sun 12.38 cr, Mon 5.72 cr, Tue 6.21 cr, Wed 4.4 cr, Thu 3.5 cr."
Produced by Ekta and Shobha Kapoor, The Dirty Picture's mega success has come as a surprise to trade pundits too. Adarsh tweets,"#TheDirtyPicture fetches one of the biggest starts, touching the coveted Rs 50 cr nett mark in Wk 1, a status only few films have enjoyed."
The Vidya Balan starrer had received mostly positive reviews from the critics on its release. They have rated Balan's acting in the film as one of the finest performances in recent times.
