Abhishek Bachchan starrer movie Players, which opened to a colossal disappointment at the Box Office in India, has earned Rs 21.75 crores net at the collection centres in the first week. With this, the multi-starrer film has posed a threat of suffering heavy losses to the producer.
The big budget movie Players, which was expected to debut with a huge collection at the Box Office, registered 20% to 30% occupancy on the opening day. The film earned Rs 15 crores net in the first weekend. Its business fell sharply on weekdays and it added another Rs 6.75 crores net to its total gross Rs 21.75 crores net.
However, Players, which is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Burmawala Bros, had created lot of curiosity among the movie buffs before its release. But the film has been rejected outright. Since there are no big releases this week, it should be seen whether the movie will recover its loss at the Box Office or not.

Box Office Update: Chaalis Chauraasi, Sadda Adda, Ghost, Tutiya Dil

The movie No One Killed Jessica had started the year 2011 with a bang, but the year 2012 has a bad beginning with the first release of the year, Players getting poor response at the Box Office. The low response continues in the second week with the new releases like Chaalis Chauraasi, Sadda Adda, The Ghost and Tutiya Dil.
Chaalis Chauraasi, Sadda Adda, The Ghost and Tutiya Dil are all medium budget movies. Chaalis Chauraasi and The Ghost boast of big star cast, while Sadda Adda and Tutiya Dil have all newcomers. But irrespective of any reason, all of them have opened to a poor response at the Box office. They have registered a very low amount of occupancy in theatres across the country.
However, this weak response for movies is expected to continue in the third week of the year too as there are no big releases. But Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath, which is slated to release on 26th January, is expected to make it big at Box Office.
